Daniel Barenboim will conduct the season opener at the Teatro alla Scala on December 7th, a premiere of Guy Cassier's production of Die Walküre in continuation of the theater's cooperation with the German State Opera in Berlin. The cast includes Wagner greats like Waltraud Meier, Simon O'Neill, John Tomlinson and Nina Stemme. This year's opening night in Milan will be broadcast in cinemas throughout Europe, the United States, and Canada.
