Lugares de Richard Wagner em Veneza

Quanto a lugares wagnerianos em Veneza, eis três bem famosos...

Wagner Museum. Wagner stayed in Vendramin Palace (today: Casino) in the last year of his life, and died here on February 13, 1883. His apartment is a museum today with some extremely interesting Wagner memorabilia. The museum can only be visited with a reservation, and Dr. Nelson knows the guides very well.

O fabuloso...
Giustinian Palace. Wagner lived in Giustinian Palace when he was working on the second act of Tristan und Isolde. Some believe that the romance of Venice was inspiration for Wagner. The building is closed to the public, but can be seen from everyvaporetto that goes down the Grand Canal.

E finalmente...

Lavena Cafe. On the Piazza San Marco, the very center of Venice, is Lavena Cafe which was a favorite spot for Wagner to have a cup of coffee. On  the wall across from the counter is an elegant wood carving depicting the composer’s frequent visits.

Lugares de Richard Wagner em Viena

Regresso a lugares de Richard Wagner...
Começo por Viena e três lugares bem wagnerianos...

Hotel Royal. Right in the center of Vienna, within a few meters of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, is the Hotel Royal. In the lobby is the piano Wagner used when he composed Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. He was living on Hadikgasse (Vienna’s 14th district) at the time. The instrument was later given to the manager of the hotel.

Hadikgasse 72. Wagner lived here in 1883 and 1884 when he was in Vienna finishing Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. This lovely house is about a fifteen-minute walk from Schönbrunn Palace. Wagner met Brahms in this house.

Hotel Imperial. This five-star hotel, on Ringstrasse and next to the Musikverein, is one of Vienna’s most opulent. Wagner and his family stayed here in 1875 as Tannhäuser was being rehearsed at the Vienna Court Opera.

«In 1983 the family Just-Doppler acquired the Wels’ hotel Greif with its integrated theatre. Renovating the gem and bringing the stage up to date, Walter Just, the founder of the Trodat-firm and a enthusiastic Wagner admirer, discovered the aforementioned little recess: without doubt this special place was perfect for a Richard Wagner’s bust. (...) The bust was celebrated with a Wagner Concert, which was a tremendous success and the booster detonation to the following. No-one had expected it to become such a great international success.

Systematically and with a lot of love the Wagner project was developed in Wels, the city where Hans Sachs, the main character from „Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg“, spend a few years. After the opening concert in 1989 in the presence of the director of the Bayreuth Festival , Wolfgang Wagner, the initiators decided to organise a gala every year. The splendid celebrations were supported by renowned singers such as Theo Adam, Lisbeth Balslev, Simon Estes, Reiner Goldberg, Sabine Hass, Janis Martin, Uta Priew, Hans Sotin, Bernd Weikl, Heinz Zednik and many others. Finally the prominent stage designer Günther Schneider-Siemssen encouraged the initiators to organise scenical performances. As a result in 1995 “Tristan und Isolde” was performed - with unprecedented success. The audience rush was so huge that the production was repeated the following two years. Other operas like „Die Walküre“, „Siegfried“, „Parsifal“, „Der fliegende Holländer“ and "Lohengrin" followed.»

Wagner em Weimar

Weimar, Alemanha

Em 1849, Richard Wagner fugiu da Alemanha. A sua intervenção revolucionária nas barricadas de Dresden não correu bem e, antes de se exilar, Wagner viveu um curto período em Weimar, onde foi acolhido por Liszt.
