Dois belíssimos cartazes para o filme de que mostrei há pouco uma excerto: Os Nibelungos, de Fritz Lang. Ilustração vigorosa e foto belíssima. O cinema nos anos vinte , nada a crescentar. Um portento!

A Dangerous Method, de David Croneberg

Para todos os que gostamos de analisar o wagnerismo, eis um excelente filme: A Dangerous Method , de David Cronenberg.
Excusado será dizer que, com alguma excepção que eu não conheço, a crítica não lhe fez justiça, nem soube fazer um exercício ínteressante em torno do tema. E, todavia, as pistas são tantas...
Foi preciso ir ler o New York Times para encontrar  organizado um conjunto de ideias válidas sobre o filme, justamente o remetendo para um bom lugar  na esteira dos wagnerismos. É que está lá quase tudo: Jung transforma-se num ariano (puro) e quer substituir vários pais; o da sua paciente, mas também Freud, seu mentor. Jung transforma-se em Siegfried (porque quer agir livremente, para lá do bem e do mal nietzschianos) e quer ser Wotan ( e, de certo modo, é-o, nas suas muitas infidelidades) ... e , apesar de não simpatizar muito com o nazismo, a verdade é que lhe sobreviveu  muito bem, enquanto os que o rodeavam foram caindo e morrendo...

Gostei muito do ambiente algo intangível que Cronenberg recria, mostrando-nos uma Suiça e uma Áustria muito soalheiras, onde nunca se vê neve ou chuva (  os protagonistas passeiam frente aos lagos, ou nos jardins do Belvedere de Viena, em ambientes perfeitamente imaculados, brancos, luminosos e irreais...)

Mais críticas a Siegfried no MET, 2011, desta feita uma crítica desfavorável...

SIEGRIED - Metropolitan Opera, 2011

A récita que vimos em diferido no sábado foi fabulosa, e a ópera Siegfried, de Richard Wagner, é daquelas de que se pode dizer: quanto mais a vejo , mais gosto dela!

E digo isto porque nela os mitos fluem, das Eddas, dos gregos e do xamanismo de muitas culturas e religiões. O encontro de Erda com Wotan-Wanderer, no terceiro ato, é um dos mais belos momentos da tetralogia... Um dos aspetos que me impressionaram nesta encenação de Lepage foi a capacidade que o encenador demonstrou relativamente a clarificar os meandros da ação das personagens, desvendando a magia profunda de Wotan e de Erda, as duas criaturas que forjam os destinos do mundo, e que teimam em querer alterá-lo a seu favor...

At the performance on Tuesday night a malfunction prevented the set from creating the proper configuration for the final scene between the title character and Brünnhilde, when Siegfried awakens her from sleep amid perpetual fire around her and they sing a love duet, the Met said in a statement.

Para o ano, em Bayreuth, a principal novidade parece ser a nova encenação de O Navio Fantasma, com direcção musical de Christian Thielemann.

«La principal de ellas será la nueva producción de El holandés errante, que podrá disfrutarse en seis representaciones a partir del 25 de julio de 2012, día de inicio del Festival. La labor escénica ha sido encargada al joven director alemán Jan Philipp Gloger, de treinta años, que se acerca por primera vez al universo wagneriano. De hecho, su labor se ha desarrollado principalmente en el mundo del teatro (Brecht, Goethe, Shakespeare, Schiller, Camus…) y no fue hasta el pasado año cuando hizo su debut en la lírica con Las bodas de Fígaro, de Mozart, en el Teatro de Augsburgo.»
